"What Does St. Aug Mean to You?"

I was very fortunate to attend St. Augustine’s University and graduated with honors in 1978 and a Distinguished Military Graduate.  In 1974, SAU had a very robust recruitment program and visited my High School in Petersburg, VA.  They were the first to reach out to draw me nearer to a college education. I was invited upon graduation from High School to attend the summer program.  It was at that time that I fell in love with the University.  I worked in the Office of Alumni Affairs on a work study program and loved every minute.  The quality of the staff, ROTC instructors and professors were phenomenal. I look back with fondness on so many great classmates, alumni, and friends, who remain in my life today. Great universities are defined by the quality of the entire staff and student body, such as my awesome alma mater.  On Sunday, February 25, 2024, my church, Greater Mt. Nebo A.M.E. Church, Bowie, MD. celebrated HBCU Day and my classmate, Viola Underdo and I proudly wore our SAU cardigans with Falcon Pride.
